Muscle Spasm

A muscle spasm is characterized by a sudden, involuntary muscle contraction that usually bears acute pain. On occasion, it is marked by limited movement and a “knotting” sensation of the muscles. The neck and low back are the most common areas for muscle spasms. It may not sound as a serious medical condition, but if left untreated, severe neck or low back pain can progress to a more disabling condition, forcing interferences in your usual activities of daily living.

Ginger

Ginger tea, whether from powdered ginger or from ginger extracts added to boiling water, reduces spasms and relaxes the muscles.
Pineapple
(Anonas comosus Linn) Pineapple is a good source of calcium and iron, vitamins A, B and C. The fruit is good for acid dyspepsia and aids digestion and the juice increases urine flow and is a good laxative, among other medicinal benefits. To help reduce inflammation and remove toxins in the body to relax muscles, drink pineapple juice or eat pineapple in between meals.
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) Roman chamomile is a generally safe herb used to treat various ailments, including muscle spasms. Chamomile has two types: Roman chamomile and German chamomile. Generally, they both contain antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. The German chamomile essential oil is applied on the affected area to relax muscle spasms.
